Closing of 2007

Today is the last day of 2007. Another year over, a new one just begun. This year was hard. Struggling with my major depression was not fun. At times it was so overwhelming. I'm glad I finally find help with my therapist and with some meds. I'm much more calm and not yelling all the time. I'm still on edge about other thinks but that's just stress I need to get under control.

Here's to a new year!!! Things I'm going to work on: Running a 5K, Scrapbooking at least once a month, Having a relationship with my husband, Teaching my children patiences and understanding, Make a budget and stick to it, Have Fun, FUn, FUN!

Ho Ho Ho

Well Christmas is over. It was a busy but fun week. The boys were so excited and really enjoyed opening their presents. I was wonderful seeing Shelly, Bill and the girls. I just wish we had some time together. Marion and Elizabeth came in a few days later. The new year is about to end. It's strange. The time is going so fast. How can it be slowed down? Live in the moment. I think that will help. Hopefully I'll get better at doing that new year.

Cookies, Cookies, Cookies

I started my annual cookie baking today. I made 4 different types of cookies. Choclate Biscotti, Peppermint Biscotti, Kissable Thumb Prints and Molasses Sandwiches. I still have 3/4 other types to do. Kyle was having a lot of fun helping me and he was really a big he. He rolled the cookie balls into sugar, he put the thumb prints in the cookies and he crushed the candy canes for me. Later all the boys helped decorate the Kissable cookies.

Now I just need to keep my will power in check and not eat them all. :)

Santa's Naughty List

I remember as a child that the threat that Santa was watching would get me to behavior for the whole month of December. So I asumed that the same thing would work with my kids, but they have been so terrible. It's so disstressing that they are getting so sassy and mean to each other. I know siblings will fight, my sister and I did all the time, but it's so hard to watch it. I don't know what to do to make them be kinder to each other.

Today was the last straw and I told William that Santa called to let me know he was on the naughty list and he needs to work on being good so he will move back to the nice list. Oh the things parents will do. Let's just hope he is better the next two weeks.

Planning for Disney

Well it's official. We are going to Disney in May. I have some mixed feelings. I think I would have liked to wait one more year before going. I think all the boys would be at a good age. It would be easier getting around and we (hopefully) won't be in so much debt.

I told Ken that after Christmas we have to really tighten our budget so we can get some stuff paid off before the trip. I really hate dealing with money issues. Between work and home it's just too stressful. I really hope that everything goes well this year so we can get out of our debt and live like we use too. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Dinosaur Hill

William and I went to Dinosaur Hill in Rochester Hills with his Cub Scout Den. They had a story time, craft and a visit with Santa. The craft was a wreath of cheerios and cranberries to leave for the birds. We took a short hike up Dinosaur Hill and left our wreath for the birds. William picked a small tree by the stream. The boys were much better behaved then they usually are at our meetings. I really enjoy the time I get to spend with William and I hope he will have great memories of these times.

Starting a new

Well, I'm a blogger. I've tryed journaling off and on for years but thought it was time to try a blog. This blog is for my own personal discovery, not really for the world to see. But who knows maybe in the future that will change.
