The Last Lecture

I just finished reading the book The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch. If you want to be inspired you need to read this book. I first heard of Randy Pausch when the utube video of his Last Lecture was passed around the Internet. View it here if you have not seen it: . The book is so much more then the lecture. It makes you feel good. It makes you think about what you dream about. It makes you love and enjoy each day.

This book really made me think about my dreams when I was growing up.

1. Work for Disney doing animation
2. Be a model
3. Be fit
4. Speak another language

I'm sure there are more, but right now that is what I can remember. What were your dreams? Are you living them?

I'm working on number 3. and I'm very close to my goal. As for number 1. I'm planning on going back to school next year to get a degree in Media & Communication Arts which will get me closed to that dream.

Keep dream and living those dreams!

A Merry, Merry Christmas

It was a wonderful holiday season. For us it was very queit compared to Christmas's of the past. At first I wasn't looking forward to it much, because most of my family would not be here, but it was nice. I still missed my family dearly, but it was a much slower pace and we got to have more time playing with the boys.

One memorial part of the day was when Kyle came up to me and said "Mom, I forgot to give you the best present." He proceeded to give me a super big hug and said "I love you very much". It was the BEST present I could ever get.

I hope your holidays were filled with love and joyous time.

Busy, Busy, Busy

I've been busy getting everything ready for the holidays. The presents are bought and wrapped. The cookies are almost done - just need to decorate the cut-out ones with the boys. I have the menu planned, just need to buy things next week.

I got a lot of my baking done today. We have over 12 inches of now today, so the boys are home and I wasn't planning on going anywhere. I have a feeling this is going to be one of those winters I remember as a child - tons of snow. We are suppose to get more on Sunday and then on Christmas Eve.

Stay warm!

Christmas Cards - Check

One item off my list. Here's a sample of the cards I made for my family and the picture I'm enclosing in all the cards. Maybe next year I'll start early and everyone will get a handmade card.

Making a List

I finished the cards that I was making for Xmas. Now I need to comply my address list and figure out how many pictures I need to print. So far I need around 80+!!! What's a normal card list amount?? I'm hoping to get the cards in the mail by this weekend, so I can focus on my other "to do" items. Next on the list is my cookie list. I usually make around 8-10 different kinds of cookies. Luckily I like to bake. :) I let the boys pick a cookie and then I make some from years past with one or two new ones. I'm looking forward to having the house smell yummy!! I also need to get my shopping done. I have a few more gifts to buy and I need to ship some gifts. Even though I have a lot to still do, I'm not getting stressed about it all. Well I need to get back to my card list. Good Night!

New Favorite Blog

I've always been a fan of Tim Holtz. He is an amazing artist and a wonderful instructor. I had the pleasure of taking one of his classes at CKU-Detroit. If you want to see some wonderful art work and get ideas on using his line of products check out his website. He is in the middle of his 12 tags of chirstmas and they are breathtaking. Enjoy!

Time for Christmas Crafts

The boys and I had a wonderful time working on our Xmas Crafts. I got the idea of the button tree from Ali Edwards website. It was a perfect craft for all the boys to enjoy. Here's the boys getting started.

William's being very careful with the pins.

Kyle loves picking out special buttons from all the bowls.

Logan showing off one of his picks.

The finished products.....

It's Here....

I just got my copy of The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J.K. Rowling!! It will probably be the last of the "Harry Potter" Books so I'm very excited to read it. Now, I just need to get the kids to bed. :)

I took a big step today. I went to MCC to talk to an adviser. Yes, I'm going back to school. I need to talk to the programs dean but it looks like I will be a student again next year. I'm going back for Visual Communications. I figured I would explore my craftive side and see if I can make a living doing something I love. It also good time with the rumors that some Hollywood studios are buying some old auto plants to convert to studios around this area. So, wish me luck!

Start of Journal My Christmas

It's December!! It just like I enjoy it. Yesterday and last night it snowed, so the ground is covered in white. It was the perfect snow for snowmen making so we all headed outside to have some fun.

I found a cool project for documenting this christmas. Check out if you want to join in the fun.

Here is my Day 1 page for this project. I need to print it and add some bling to the page but I'm just glad I keep my promise to send some time to do this project.

I used the free downloads from december magazine. The frame is from DesignersDigitals KPertiet - SnapFrames and the Flourish is from DesignersDigitals AASPN WebChallenge May 08.

Inspired to work

I got the creating bug last night, so I made a few cards. Enjoy! The inside of this card says "You". I used some felt borders I had and the owl is from a chipboard set I got from CK.

This is a stampin Up stamp I had and everything else was from my scrap basket.

I'm still here

WoW!!! It's been almost a month sense I posted. That's typical of me. A lot has been going on so my posting gets pushed back. So highlights from the last month:

* Finished "quiet" room
* Halloween fun (pumpkin craving, classroom parties, trick-or-treating)
* FACES meeting - Showing of new documentary "I'm Not Nuts" Living with Food Allergies
* Taking on-line class - Story in Hand

We also had teacher conferences last week and I'm so proud of the boys. They both received top marks and are well behaved in school. As a "well done" we went to the book store yesterday to get a new book.

I'll try to post more often.....but please don't hold your breath.

Reunion TIme

I just got my invitation to my 20th high school reunion. I still think they got the number wrong - it couldn't be 20 years already. I have mixed feeling about going. I'm curious to see other people, but I'm not much of a mingler. I prefer to talk to the people I'm still in contact with and have fun with them. One good thing is that it's going to be at the Gazebo. We had our wedding reception their and the food is great. Hopeful it still is and this time we will be able to enjoy it more.
Well here is the latest layouts I did. The pictures of Logan were taken back in April. Logan's hair was so long and he looked so different.

Apple Time

This week I got to go to the apple orchard twice. Once on Monday with Logan's class and once on Friday with Kyle's class. We went to two different orchards so that made it interesting to me. The boys were very different at the orchards. Logan could not care about the apples. He just kept asking "When can we pick the donuts?". It was nice to get a chance to met some of the parents and kids in his class. Kyle was the opposite of Logan. He was so excited to pick the apples - the more the better. And we had to find just the right pumpkins in the patch. I made special donuts so he got to enjoy a snack with his friends.

Here's the layout I did for Logan's trip. I haven't finished Kyle's yet.

What a weekend

Today was in the 80s and so sunny. It was nice to be outside and enjoy the beautiful colors of fall coming without the chilly temps. I'm sure those are right around the corner, but that's fine. It's all part of the cycle. Happy Fall!!!

Indian Summer

The weather for the last few days has been completly wonderful. It's been in the low to mid 70s - to me that's perfect. Also all the trees are turning colors so it's just a wonderful rainbow of colors everywhere you look. We took advantage of the sun and had some in the backyard. We don't know how many more days like this we will have so we need get outside as much as we can. Here's a layout I did on the photos I took.

Welcome Fall

Yesterday was the perfect fall day - the sun was shining, the weather was crisp. I really need to take William and Logan's yearly picture and since the weather was so nice we went outside for our photo shot. Below is my favorite photo for Logan's shoot. I did a quick page so I won't forget how he is at this age. Once I finish William's page I'll post it.

Trip to the zoo

Today was the 2nd grade field trip to the Detroit Zoo. The weather was great. It did not rain and was in the 60s. The children I was chaperoning were well behaved and I think we all had a great time. Here a picture of our group.

It's Back.

Things have been pretty crazy around here. I've been helping out at school a lot and trying to get some odds and ends projects done around the house. I got my harddrive data back :) and I've been working on getting everything backed up and organized again. I signed up for another on-line class thru so I'm getting back into my digi scrapping. Here's the first layout I did for the class....

New Card

The boys are all at school and I don't have running around to do so I decided to create. I can always do the housework a little later. Here's the card I made for the 2 Sketches contest for this week.

Made it thru the parties...

and boy was it fun!!! It was both William's and Logan's birthdays this past week. The boys had a great time opening presents and eating cake. Logan was a blast because he is at the age that he understands presents and can make some interesting comments about them.

As usual I spent the week baking. William changed his mind from Indiana Jones to Pokeman at the last minute, so I had to make him a generic cake theme. He requested a tall cake and boy did he get it - 11 levels in all. It was crazy but so, so yummy.

Logan wanted a turtle cake. I was trying some new allergy friendly recipes and was having some problems getting the cakes to release from the pan. In all, I baked 6 cakes. I was getting frustated and decided instead of making a turtle shaped cake I would just decorate the cake with turtle. My circut machine came to the rescue with my Animal Kingdom cartiage.

Now I have a few week off from baking which is good for my bathroom scale (LOL!)

My Little boys not so little anymore

This weekend marked my oldest 7th birthday. It's a bitter sweet event for me. We watch our home movies from his first year of life and the strangest thing was seeing how other people have aged. William has grown into a sweet, fun and intelligent boy. He can also be sassy and testing but that is part of life. I had the pleasure of going to school and watching him share information about himself. He was a riot, using the props he brought in to describe things he likes.

We had cake and ice cream yesterday with our family and he really enjoyed all the wonderful things he received. No more "baby toys" now it's usually Lego's or something electronic.

My Hard drive that is!!! My external hard drive died yesterday. I'm so upset. This is the HD that housed all my photos and digi scrapbook stuff. This past week I was uploading all my photos from this year and was going to back them up. I never got to the backing up part. So now I have to send the HD out and keep my fingers crossed that they can retrieve all my stuff. I'm usually good about backing up my photos but I have not been on schedule. And I guess I need to backup my digi stuff. Send me good wishes that they will recover everything :<(

Finally Finished

Yes, the new computer/scrapbook room is finished. I love it!! It's so inspiring that I know I will be able to create some beautiful things in here. I still need to hang some art work but it's perfect already. Here's some pictures of the room.....

Here's a peek inside my cabinet. This is the cleanest it's ever been...let's hope I can keep it that way. :)

Here's inside one of the cabinets. This one holds all my cricut supplies, xyrons, stamps and other embellishments.

The cute suitcases in the corner are from JoAnns. The hold my stamping inks, powders and individual wood mounted stamps. The jars are from IKEA (so if most of the furniture). They have my buttons, eyelets, brads, flowers and scrap ribbon. The tins have my rub-ons and clear stamps.

Latest Creation....

Hi! I hope everyone has had a great start to the school year. I know we have. I'm really happy with my boys teachers and they are excited about their classes.

Since the boys have been going to bed early I've had some time to create. Here are a few cards I did for the latest 2 Sketches 4 You contest.

And here is one for the bonus sketch....

First Day of School...

I survived!! Boy did I have butterflies this morning. I can not believe two of my children are in school now. I really excited about the year but I'm also very nervous to let them go.

Kyle had a wonderful day. He was all smiles when I picked him up. I'm sure as time goes on I'll more comfortable letting him out of my site. He just seems so big now!!

William had a great day too. I didn't get to talk to his teacher but I like her already. She sent home a student planner for the kids. They have to track what they do in school, homework and other important items. It will also be used to communicate with the teacher. Since, I'm all about list and organization; I'm loving it. I'm hoping William will really get the hang of keeping things on track with this system.

Logan was sad today. He wanted to go to school. I keep telling him he gets to go next week, but to a 2 year old that means forever.

It's great to have some routine back!!

Last weekend of summer....

Today we took the boys to the zoo. It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining. The humidity was not too high and the crowds we low.

It seems strange that in only 2 days I will have 2 kids in school. I'm so excited and nervous at the same time. I know they will both have a great time but for William it's going to be a lot more work and I'm hoping he will adjust well. For Kyle it more my fear with his allergies. He is so ready for school. I know they will both do great.

I'm just not sure how I will handle the quiet around here with only Logan at home.

Well I'm still working on moving into my new room, but I took a break to make the following cards for two challenges.

Card One is for 2 Sketches 4 You:

Card Two is for Caardvarks - Music Theme

New Dawn - Do not read this if you haven't finished the book.

I loved the book until the last few chapters. It just wrapped up to nice and neat. I was waiting for a big fight scene and nothing. :( Not that I wanted any of the main characters knocked off but it was just a let down after a whole book building up to a grand stand off. Over all I still love the books and I'm looking forward to the movie this winter.

Update on computer room; We fixed the plumbing problem and have all the furniture back in the room. I'm working on moving stuff in, but it's going very slow. I need to pick up the pace because I'm not able to work on anything and really want to. Hopefully by the beginning of next week I'll have some pictures to post.

We have a Plumbing Problem....

like always!! Pipes and us just do not get along. We were almost done with our new room when after a shower we noticed a lot of water coming out of one of the cabinets. We put a hole in one of the drain pipes when we hung the cabinet! We had to remove two of the cabinets, fix the pipe, put up new drywall, make it look nice and smooth, repaint that section, and re hang the cabinets to were they will not cause any problems. Well we are still at the make it look nice and smooth step. We are planning on painting tomorrow and then getting the cabinets up the next day. After that it's back to moving stuff into the room.

This move is really making me see how much scrapbooking supplies I really have. It's crazy. I need to get a lot of work done once everything is moved. I trying to use what I have so I have not been to any LSS in quite a while. But I did get some new stamped from Stampin Up and CTMH. Yes I have a shopping problem with it comes to my hobby :)

New Room almost done

Sorry I've been missing in action. I've been busy putting together all the lovely IKEA furniture I got for the new office. I need to make one more trip back to exchange a few items that I got in the wrong size, but once I do that the hard stuff begins. I have to pack up all my scrapbook stuff and the rest of the office and move it to the new one. I'm looking forward to doing that because i'm hoping that will help me organize everything, but I know I'm not going to work on things for a while.

In family news, the boys started their swim lessons today. Logan is completely fearless. He reminds me of me when I was little and my dad was teaching me to swim. I have pictures of me when I was around 3 jumping to my dad from the ladder. I was so excited and couldn't wait to do it again. That was how Logan was, he always had a big smile on his face.

I watched the other Boleyn Girl last night. It did not do the book justice. It was horrible. Read the book and skip the movie. It's really got me interested in the British Royal Family. Some day I'll have to do some research and read some more books about the past Kings and Queens.

I was hoping to start reading Breaking Dawn tonight but for some reason my Amazon order got messed up. I'm going to make a run to the book store tomorrow to get my copy and start reading.
Have a good week!!

The Other Boleyn Girl & HP

Hello again. Today my mom had surgery on her shoulder. Everything went wonderful and she is now up in our guest room sleeping. To help make the time waiting pass I finished the book "The Other Boleyn Girl" by Philippa Gregory. Let me just say "Wow". It's a wonderful book and it makes you very happy to living in this century. I have not seen the movie but plan on checking it out. I know it will not compare to the book but I'm sure it will be good.

When I got home my DH showed me the new HP trailer. Check it out at this link.,986e16ee-2961-4c52-a01c-90794bcf7ec3,3e1ccfe0-654d-4c6f-9b72-3835db18eb77&from=ENGB_msnvideo&tab=s1204298895071&from=today_u21&wa=wsignin1.0&vv=600

OK the link is ten miles long but that's the link. For those of you that don't know me that well I'm a huge HP fan and I look forward to each book and movie. So any news about them is like a holiday at my house.

This weeks challenge

I worked on a few challenges this week. Below is the card for the 2S4Y weekly challenge. I also did a layout challenge for another site but I'll need to post those tomorrow because my camera battery dead and I need to recharge it.

Other new: my workout class is going great. I'm really not in good shape. The workouts are really kicking my butt. I guess that' s the whole point. I'll be surprise if I don't see any major changes in my body by the end of the 12 weeks.

Sunday, July 27, 2008

I found another really cool card marking web-site - Caardvarks. ( I created these two cards for their current contest.

Design Team Cards

The announcement was made for the design team at 2Sketches4You. Unfortunately I did not make it but I'll keep working on my cards and try again next time. Here are the cards that I submitted for the team.

Detour to Ikea

I had the mini van cleaned out. All the seats were removed. There was enough room to pick up all the furniture at Ikea. Too bad the mini-van never made it there.

As we got off the express-way the van made a funny noise and died. I was able to coast into a Tim Hortons parking lot and call AAA. They were able to get a tow truck to me within 30 minutes and luckily DH found a dealer that was open near by. I was also very lucky that Enterprise Rent-a-Car was open at that time. The van will not be looked at until Monday, so I'm driving a Jeep SUV until then.

My mom and me finally got to Ikea two hours later then expected but we were excited to finally be there. Since the Jeep was small then my mini-van I could only get about half of what I needed, but I'm going to Ikea next weekend with my aunt.

That store is so dangerous for me. Everything just looks so nice and most things are so inexpensive that it's easy to put things in your cart and worry about the total later.

I'll have to wait a few more weeks to get the computer room done but I can not wait to start working on it and organizing everything.

Have a great weekend!!

Crazy Week

TGIF! It's been a crazy week but a rewarding one.

I started my class at the Gym. It's called TEAM Fitness. I go three times a week for 12 weeks. This week was a lot of testing so we have a base line to work from. I just love the personnal training that is working with me and so far there has only been at the most 4 people there, so it's a lot of hands on with the training.
William had basketball camp this week. He really got into it this year and keeps talking to me about getting a net for the driveway.

I also started my bread baking adventure and I have to say "I love it". There is nothing like fresh hot bread. I'm trying to find a place on my counter were I can keep the bread machine out. I've made 3 loaves of bread and one batch of pizza dough. Now remember the bread is suppose to be mainly for Kyle but everyone wants it.

My mom found out that she has to go in for surgery next week. They need to clean the scar tissue from her routter cuff surgery a few months ago. But before she goes in we are going to go to IKEA tomorrow and have some fun.

I worked on a few layouts over the week. These are pictures from last year but I still wanted to share them with you. I'm trying to get many photo downloading into a routine so it won't take me a year to scrapbook photos.

Have a great weekend!

New Card - 2S4U

Here's my card for this weeks 2S4U weekly contest.

Healthy Child

I've been reading this great book called Healthy Child Healthy World. I'm not even done with the book but wanted to share it with you. It's a guide to creating a cleaner, greener, safer home for you and your children.

The reason I like it so much is because it guides you in making small changes that make a big impact. You always hear you should be greener, eat better, use less chemical but no one really gives you a simple way to start making the change. This book does just that. Each chapter focus on a different issue (ie. cleaning your home, eating better, beauty products, etc.) I've followed the steps for changing from commercial cleaning products to making my own. I've been wanting to do this, but it just seemed overwhelming until I read this book. I now have 4 spray bottles filled with cleaner that I made for a fraction of the cost and I'm not afraid of my kids using them. The only commercial, but green, product I buy are laundry soap (Ecos brand), dishwasher soap (seventh generation) and toilet cleaner (seventh generation). But I can clean the toilets with out this but my hubby prefers the liquid stuff.

If you interested in giving eco-friendly cleaning a try here's an easy place to start:
Mix equal parts distilled vinegar with water. Use this to clean windows and as a base cleaner for counter tops or tables (just for quick wipe ups). If your worried about streaks on your windows use newspaper to dry them. Or buy some micro clothes. You can get them at most stores. I bought mine at Sams Club in the auto area. Use one for wiping the window and one for drying. Then just wash them in your regular wash - no wasted paper towel!

Our newly painted room looks beautiful. I just love the color. (See a sample of the color below). If you are thinking about painting any time soon check out The Fresh Aire Choice Paint It's an environment friendly paint which doesn't have any VOC. VOCs are the harsh chemicals used in paint that contribute to poor indoor air quality. After we painted we didn't have any "paint" smell in the house. It was great!!

We are starting Kyle's new allergy diet tomorrow. It's not going to be easy to eliminate Soy, Rice, Corn, Lemon, Tomatoes, Sesame Seeds, Peas and Buckwheat. I've come to the reality from my own search in the stores and from on-line message boards that I will need to start making my own bread for him. I love fresh bread but the thought of doing it all the time scares me a little. I have a bread machine that a friend gave me so I'm going to find a place on my counter for it and start it up. Wish me luck!!

Creative Bug

Today I started painting our "dinning room". It's never been a dining room and probably never will be but it's easiest to list it as dining room.

Since we moved in, this room was a play room. It was a great use of the room with 3 little boys running around. When we finished the basement and moved most of the toys down in the playroom we made, I started dreaming of what the "dining room" could be.

I plan on making it a computer/homework/craft room. There will be room for all of us to work on our own projects and still be together. Maybe I'll get more work done.

Tomorrow I should be done with the painting. It's going to be a brownish yellow. I'm going to use red as my accent color. I planned all the furniture out at the IKEA web-site and just need to make a trip out to Canton.

I also got working on a card for the 2Sketches4you challenge. ( Here's a look at it:

My Trip

My 2 hour flight to Georgia took 6 long hours. There was bad weather in Georgia so we were delayed in taking off and then had to hold a flight pattern for about an hour when we got close. I didn't mind the delay because I got to start my new book and we had some entertainment on the flight. There was a very strange man sitting in the row in front of me and it was funny listening to him.

It was great to get off the plane and stretch my legs and to see my family. I was so excited when I saw Shelly, Bill and the girls all waiting for me. I could tell we were going to have a great time. We didn't really have anything planned but I was just looking forward to hanging out with my sister.

Bill had to go away for work, so it was going to be a true girls only weekend. On Friday we went to the mall were Amanda works. We did some shopping and then painted some potty at the store she works at. That evening I checked my emails and by some weird twist of faith I got a message from one of the message boards regarding a scrapbook convention in Atlanta. The convention was right around the corner from the Palaski home and it was that weekend. So, on Saturday morning Shelly and I put on our best walking shoes and grabbed our credit cards and headed to the convention.

We took one class that was just amazing. The sponsor was Rusty Pickle. I love there papers and the instructor was fabulous. We created a canvas album. It was so beautiful.

The rest of the weekend was spent watching chick flicks, eating out, talking and being silly. The time went by so fast. On the way home I thought about all the fun and thinking about next time. But I was also thinking about how nice it was to get away to all the demands of my family for a few days, but also how great it would be to see them again.

Small World - FACES reborn

I've been toying with the idea of getting our local food allergy group back together. About a year ago it stopped because no one was willing to take of the reins. Ever since we found out about all of Kyle's new problems I felt like I needed to be there for others that get the news. It's so overwhelming when you are first told and I want to make it easier for other families.

Anyways, I decided to contact a few people from the old group. One being the person that started it all, Liz. She had moved away a few years ago, but I knew she would help me get the courage to set up. To my surprise Liz emailed me back and she just moved back to Michigan. She hasn't put the word out yet because they are still getting settled. I'm so excited that we can work on this together now.

Another website that has been helping me get more information is I've just started looking around the site but I really like it so far. Everyone seems very friendly and it's such a large community that people always have ideas.

Not a Blogger at Heart

OK....I'm not a blogger. To me you should posted at least once a week. I'm lucky to put something on once a quarter. And usually it's nothing very interesting.

Update on me

Feeling great! Depression under control. Getting back into my health and fitness. Join group training class and got a MAP test done at the gym. My next goal is to get my recipes and shopping under control. I want to make a cookbook with my favorites from my different books but I also want to create some meal plans. Either monthly or weekly I'm not sure yet.

Update on Kyle

His lastest allergy test were the same. Allergic to many items: Soy, Rice, COrn, Peas, Bananas, Lemon, etc.... Basiclly the plan is to elimante everything and slowly re introduce the items to see how he feels. We did that with corn already and he seems to be fine with that.

The biggest problem now is his tyroid. It was very high for his age. I'm waiting for the specialist to get back with me. They have to determine when they can fit him in base on how bad the data is.

Update on William

His tooth is still hanging on. He will not let me pull it but the gum line is so red and sore looking. I'm sure it will come out soon but it's already been weeks.

His new obession is Indian Jones. If I would let him he would watch it daily. He wants to invite Harrison Ford to his birthday party. (That would be a nice gift for Mom).

Update on Logan

Still in his terrible twos. He can sing the theme song to Indian Jones, thanks to William's obession. He is talking so much but still like to throw a fit first to see what response he will get.

Update on Ken

Work, work, work. The business has been so busy. It's great especial with the way the economy is. Next week we will have a meeting to hammer out the details for taking over Quality Tech. I'm glad Ken is thinking smaller. He usually likes to have everything the biggest and the best, but I think it's best to grow slowly and to grow out of things, then into things.

Other news:

We got the WII Fit. I love it. The boys love it. It's been so much fun to play and it gets us all moving. I can live with video games like that.

Suck at Blogging

I don't know what it is I just suck at blogging, journaling or what ever new name they put on it. I find it difficult to jote down the little things that happen throughout the day. At night when I come to the computer my mind is blank. I guess it's like anything just keep trying.

Here's to persistence!!!

Tri-it inside

I made a goal of doing a trialthlain this year. When the opputunity to do an indoor one at the gym came up I decided to do it. It was tough. The swim killed me. I didn't do very well, but at least I finished. I looked at the results today and I came in 35 out of 36 women under 40. I did 8 laps in the pool, 8 miles on the bike and 1.55 mile on the treadmill. (10 min in pool, 30 min on bike, 20 min on treadmill). I guess it's a starting point and hopefully next year I will improve. I think it will be awhile before I try an outdoor one.

Winter Blues

It's been a long time. This is the time of year I call the great depression. The lack of sun and fresh air is getting to me. I'm feeling tired and run down and there is no real reason for it. I just have to remember that spring is right around the corner. I'm still exercising everyday and watching what I eat. I'm trying to read happy things and nothing too serious.

I keep going over my blessings. Ken, the boys, my family, my health, my friends, my home and other items that we are lucky enough to be able to afford. I have so much....I just need to find peace with in myself.

Winter Blues

Cabin fever is settling in. I actually enjoy walking William to the corner every morning just to be outside. It could be cloudy and below freezing but at least I'm outside. I love having the sun on my face, it just wakes up my soul.

I've been taking advantage of the long hours inside by trying to clean and organize things that have been on my to-do list for a long time. I'm making a recipe book and I need to print out my house organizer pages since I have the binder finished.

I know we have a few more months of the winter weather but I'm just hoping that at least the sun is out in the morning to greet me and put a smile on my face.

Back to Normal Live...

We got home from our trip from Vegas a few days ago. I just now feel that everything is back to normal. The house is clean, homework is done, laundry is put away. This was the first trip in a long long time that was relaxing. No the kids were not perfect. No my in-laws did not get on my nervouse. But it was alright. I just took a deep breath and moved on.

I can really tell my mood has changed. Not only by the response on the trip, but my new excitement about creating. I've been working on my Scrapbooks again and really enjoying it. I found a great photography class on-line at 2Ps and I'm finally understanding my camera. I also contacted a school to look into taking class in the fall.

Life is good! :)

Snow Day

WOW! What a perfect winter day! We got about 12 inches of snow and it was the perfect texture for making snowmen and forts. I couldn't wait to go outside with the boys. It was very hard for Logan to walk in the deep snow. William and Kyle ran out and enjoyed playing on the slide. I started making a snowman and fort but the boys didn't want to help. They said it would take too long. Shortly after that they wanted to go back inside. I couldn't believe it. As a child I would be out in the snow all day. My mom would have to drag me in. Every kid in the neighborhood would be outside making forts, play games and just enjoying the wonderful snow. It was very disappointing that they didn't feel the same way. Maybe in a few years they will feel differently.

Either way, I enjoyed the short time I got to play.
