25 Days of Summer

Well life has gotten in the way of my 25 days of summer classes. ;) I'm still working on it, just not at the speed I was hoping for. But that's okay. I was able to get two pages finished today so I'm up to page 7 out of 25.

I enjoyed doing these layouts because they were not my typical style. I'm more of a linear type of gal and this playground style was fun to explore.

25 Days of Summer and other ramblings

I finished another book...Small Change by Sheila Roberts. It was a cute, light hearted friendship story with some financial advise mixed in. One of the things I liked about the story was that even though the characters didn't get what they had hoped for in the beginning, they discovered what they ended up with was so much better.

That is something I can struggle with - really seeing what I have. Like most people (I think) I get caught up in the "I want" thinking. I want to save up for the things I want and work hard to earn them - not put them on a credit card and then stress out about money. Before I had credit cards and had to pay cash for things in my live, I truly appreciated those items. So this book really made me think about getting back to those days and working to save then to get.

On another note....here's another page I finished. I'm really loving this class, 4 pages down in 4 days!

My two oldest boys reached a big goal this spring. They both learned to ride a two wheeler. I was so proud of them. It only took a few days for them to really get the hang of it and just start zipping around our court. It's great when they get home from school now and ask if they can ride their bike instead of playing video games.

25 Days of Summer

Well I'm on a roll....did another layout for my summer class. It wouldn't be summer if we didn't go to the zoo at least once (usually it's 2-3 times). This time the boys had their camera with them and took some pictures. I think I'm going to let them scrapbook what they took for their albums. These were the pictures that were taken with my camera.

This was a one page template that I expanded to a two page spread. I like to get a lot of pictures on my pages, so this worked out great.

25 Days of Summer

I decided I needed something to get me motivated to get some scrapbooking done. The best way for me to do this is take a class. I found an interesting one over at Renee Pearson's web-site. 25 Days of Templates - Summer Edition is what the class is called. I love templates so I figured this is right up my alley. I'm hoping to get 25 layouts done as the class goes along. Here are the first two that I completed:

All the templates and supplies came with the class kit. I'm going to try to just stick with what come with the class for most of the 25 layouts, but depending on the pictures I might have to go into my other items.
