OLW Blog Hop

May has come and gone. I know around here it still feels like March on most days, so it's hard to believe it's June 1st already.  But that means it's time for another One Little Word Blog Hop!

I want to start by thanking everyone that has been participating in the blog hop and those that have been stopping by and commenting. It's really helped me stay motivated with my OLW.  I also want to send a BIG thank you to Margie for organizing the hop every month - Your awesome!

My OLW is ignite and lately that has been meaning getting my butt in gear. Sometimes I'm overwhelmed by my 'to do' list and I don't know where to start. I'm sure many of you have had the same problem before. Then I read somewhere that you just need to start with what is in front of you.

Instead of wasting time trying to decide which task I should do now and if I'll have time for that, I would just start with the first thing that I saw or thought about doing. Even if I didn't have time to finish it I would start it and come back to it later. This really helped me feel good that I was getting something done and not so surprisingly I was getting more done.

The assignment for this months OLW class was to document your task/mission/goal/stuff to tackle. Ali and I must have been on the same wave length because that was what my whole month was about. I had already typed up some goals for this month in this post, so I used that as my jumping board when documenting for my OLW book. My first 10 items came without really thinking about it. I looked at the past enters in my OLW book and used my goals list to help me document my list.

As for the smaller 5x7 page I wanted to use another self portrait.  I've used one each  month and I think it will be interesting to see how much (if any) I changed over the year.  This months picture shows a big change since I cut a lot of my hair off, so I really need to have this one in the book.

I also included this quote on the page:

Ferdinand Foch  (1851-1929);  French soldier, theorist

Since my word is ignite, I really felt this quote works with my word and what I'm trying to do this year. Because I truly believe when my soul is on fire, I can do anything.

Thank you for stopping by during this OLW blog hop.  Your next stop is Cindy

  1. What a great quote to go along with your OLW! I get overwhelmed by all I have to do also. What often helps me is just setting the timer for 15 min and diving into something!

  2. Love that quote! It is crazy to think about all the things we are all trying to accomplish. I think it's great to just start with what's in front of you and not get caught up too much in planning. Too much planning and not enough doing, doesn't get stuff done. Best of luck with you list :)

  5. I use the iPhone app C25K which you can learn about here: http://www.c25kapp.com/

You can learn more about the actual c25k program if you click on Josh Clark. I really love the app. It allows me to listen to my own music or Pandora. It tells me when to run and when to walk. You start with small, doable intervals of running and build. I am not a runner, or at least I wasn't.

Let me know if you have any more questions :)

  11. Actually visited you on June 1 and tried to leave a comment about a half dozen times, but google has been signing me out with no rhyme or reason. Wanted to say that I love the quote and think it goes so perfectly with your word! It is one of the many quotes I have in my "collection" that will likely end up as an art journal page some day!
