52 Pins

This week I just wanted to share one of my earlier pins.  This is a quotes that I pinned over a year ago.  I find it hard to believe I've been pinning for that long but I have.

Original pin here.

And here is one I just pinned a few days ago.

52 Weeks of Pins

This week I decided to try one of the many fitness pins I have collected.

I did the no-nonsense circuit plan yesterday. Let me just say, I'm feeling muscles today that I forgot I had.

It was a great workout for a few reasons

1. No equipment needed.
2. Took less than 30 minutes.
3. I know I got a workout - I feel it!

I still need to work up to the repeat 3x because my legs were like jelly after 2 so many goal is to be able to do this circuit three times at least twice a week.

Are you trying any new fitness routines this year?

52 Weeks of Pins

This weeks pin is about cleaning again.  I guess the new year just brings out the cleaning bug in me.

One job I hate to do is clean the shower.  When I was growing up I had to clean the family shower. We had an old toothbrush and some comet and lots of elbow grease.  I hated it then and I still don't like it now. But I like a clean shower.

So that lead me to give this idea a try.

This pin is from Joyful Homemaking.  You fill these dish brushes with a 50/50 solution of vinegar and Dawn dish soap.  When you are in the shower you use it to clean the walls.  I do one wall each day and just keep going in a circle.  This really keeps everything clean and manageable.

Is there a household task that you dread doing and have  you found a way to make it easier?

Here's all my boards if you are interesting in seeing some other tips I found.

52 weeks of PINs

I'm a big pinterest fan. I've been pinning for quite some time and have over 2,000 pins. The one problem I have with it, is that I find all these really great ideas but never get around to doing anything with them. So I'm going to try to put my pins to use this year.

One pin each week.

It can be anything.
A quote.
A recipe.
A cleaning tip.
A parenting tip.
A craft.

One pin each week and use it. That's the plan.

So this week I used this great find on how to clean a microfiber furniture.  With all my kids having runny noses and them enjoying wrestling on the furniture this was a must this week.

The hardest part of this tip was trying to find a sponge that wasn't a color.  I couldn't find a white sponge but I did find an earth friendly tan one. This method was so easy to use and my couch looks like new.  If you have a microfiber couch you will want to use this pin.

Have you been using your pins??

New Year Focus

Last 8 seconds of 2012
With the boys back to school I'm trying to get into a "normal" routine.  I've been thinking about what I want that "normal" to be and figured out some basic goals for the year to help me keep focused.

First off I'm not signing up for any on-line classes. I get hooked by the excitement of a new class but I hardly ever finish the class.  I made a list of classes I signed up for and haven't finished and I plan on working of those classes if and when I have time.

I am going to try to do my version of project life. I'm not worried about doing a layout a week or getting a picture each day. I just want to have an album to put our everyday activities and adventures. I'm not sure what this will turn out to be but I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

I want to keep my blog going so I plan on posting at least once a week.

I signed up to do 13 in 2013 over at Jill's blog. This is a little crazy for me. I haven't been running much and I'm hoping this challenge will get me moving again. So my plan is to run 13 5K this year.  I'm looking into some of the fun runs that are popping up to make it more interesting for me.

I also set a goal for myself for this month to run/walk at least 7 miles per week. Do a 1 minute plank each day and 15 military push-ups each day.  Next month, I'll change this around.

Get out of debt.  My husband and I sat down and looked at all our expenses and made some hard decision on what to cut out of our life for now. We want to be completely out of debt by year end and to start living without going back in debt.  To help us with this goal we did sign up for Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University. We start this in a few weeks and I'm looking forward to seeing what type of advice Dave's program has to give.

Go on dates with my husband and my kids.  I want to plan a monthly date with each of my guys. My husband and I started doing this last year and we want to try to go more often. I have never done a date day with my boys and I feel that I need to make the time to keep connected to them.

So that's the plan.  What's your number one "goal" for 2013?
