Crafting Corner

My school work has been keeping me busy, but I was able to make a few cards this week.

I had these cards started from the last time I made cards.  The little animals are from the Avery Elle - More Stories stamp set.

For these cards I mixed some silver mixative with the texture paste to use the snow stencil as stars at night.

This card was for my son's birthday. The image is from Saturated Canary.  All the images where colored with Copic markers.

Right now...

Right Now...I'm looking at the additional snow that fell yesterday.

Right Now...I'm sitting in my pajamas waiting for my boys to get up. It's winter break so they get to sleep in today.

Right Now...I'm worried about a doctor appointment I have to take my son to later today. They have some test results back and instead of calling me saying everything is fine they want to have an appointment.  Update: We got good news at the doctor, so I'm breathing deeply again.

Right Now...I have lots of homework I need to complete. I have my first webpage design due tomorrow and I have a set of six drawings due next week. (Stay turned to see the drawings).

Right Now...I'm really enjoying my Rendering class. I've forgotten how much I really love to draw.

First assignment after the basic drawing of shapes.

Right Now...I'm regretting eating another Paczki...but they are so good.

Right Now...I'm planning some appetizers that I need to make for a wine tasting we are having on Friday.  If you have any good, quick recipes please let me know.

Right Now...I'm blessed to be able to stay home with my boys and go to school for something I always wanted to do.

Right Now...I'm reading The Food Babe Way by Vani Hari. She is a blogger and food activist that I've been following for many years. So far I'm really enjoying the book.

Words to Think About

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hope you get to spend some quality time with the people you love.  One of my favorite "love" book/movie is Pride and Prejudice, there are so many quotes from that story that are perfect for Valentine's Day.

Do you have a favorite "love" movie or book?

Chalkboard Quote

Being that it's February I felt that I had to pick a love quote. This is such a sweet quote from A.A. Milne.

One Little Word 2015

I've spent one month with my new word for 2015 - Start.

It's been a pretty good month with my word. I've taken the steps to start some activities that I've been putting off.  Here are some things I started

  • teaching myself calligraphy
  • teaching my boys how to cook
  • decluttering
  • setting aside time for creating
  • spending time doing nothing

Some of the smaller things that I've started are simple but they would cause me stress for no reason. Things like making phone calls. Sometimes I would just put them off and they would weigh on my mind.  Now when I have a simple task like that I just do it or I write it in my planner so I don't have to keep worrying about it.

I kept my pages for my OLW book very simple.

The quote on the last page is "Faith is taking the first step, even when you don't see the whole staircase." -Martin Luther King Jr.  This quote really spoke to me and my word because sometimes the first step is the hards to make.
